How do I get there?
Our church is located at the corner of N 6th Ave and W Broadway in Hopewell, Virginia
What kind of worship do you have?
We have a traditional worship. There is an intimate, early service at 8:45 am in the small Trinity Chapel, accompanied by the piano. There is a larger service at 11am in the Sanctuary on the second floor with a strong choir accompanied on the organ and piano to assist us in worship.
What should I wear?
You will find a wide variety of attire in our worship services. Some people come dressed in jeans and t-shirts while others come dressed business casual. If you prefer to wear ties or a dress, that's fine too. We invite you to wear what you feel comfortable wearing – what you wear is not important to us, you being here is!
What should I do when I arrive?
Our parking lot is in the rear of the church along N 6th Avenue. Yes, we do have a beautiful front entrance, but over the years we have come to appreciate the convenience of entering the church from the parking lot! You will see a large “ENTRANCE” sign over the door.
Just inside the door, there is a welcoming area with comfortable seating, old church pictures and artifacts, restroom, and a TV displaying pictures of church activities.
You will see signs directing you to the sanctuary or chapel, but there are always lots of friendly people there to help as well!
What if I have trouble with stairs?
There is an elevator that goes to the Fellowship Hall in the basement , the first floor (street level) and the second floor where the sanctuary is located. There is a door to the elevator on the 6th Ave side of our Church building, inside the bell tower. There will be an usher stationed near the elevator on the sanctuary level to help you to your seat if you want. Just ask!
I have small children, do you have a nursery?
Yes, we have a nursery. When you enter the welcoming area (see above), continue on into the hallway, and, a few steps to the right you will find our nursery. It is staffed by trained, loving people who will take really good care of your child or infant!
I have older children, but still too young to sit with us in the sanctuary.
Bring the children with you into the sanctuary. Pastor Chris has a "children's time" early in every service, where he invites the children down front. He sits with them, and gives them a short children's message. Following that, the kids can go through the door on the left of the chancel, to the education wing, where an adult will help them with fun activities and learning.
